Philantify, Africa’s innovative platform for visible, traceable giving, is proud to announce the four pilot micro-projects selected from its recent public call, marking a major milestone in its Beta Testing Programme. The initiative demonstrates the power of community-led philanthropy in addressing real-world challenges and delivering measurable social impact.
On 13 October 2025, Philantify launched a public invitation for micro-projects, calling on citizens, NGOs, youth groups, and social enterprises to submit innovative ideas that spotlight pressing community challenges. In just a few weeks, the platform received 16 high-quality proposals spanning education, health, gender, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and governance, each reflecting the ingenuity and commitment of Africans driving change in their communities.
“Our goal with Philantify is to transform giving from abstract promises into visible, accountable, and trackable action. Every project submitted represented a community’s voice, a real problem, and a creative solution,” said Dr. Bolaji Olagunju, Founder & CEO of Philantify.
Selection Process: Transparent, Community-Led, Fair
In true Philantify spirit, the selection process was transparent, inclusive, and community-driven. Each submission was independently reviewed and scored by a panel of volunteers against clearly defined, publicly available criteria, ensuring neutrality, accountability, and fairness.
Initially, the platform planned to fund two pilot projects, but the quality, clarity, and community relevance of the submissions inspired Philantify’s philanthropists and corporate sponsors to expand support, ultimately selecting four pilot projects for immediate implementation.
The Four Selected Pilot Projects
- Girls Thrive Project – Empowering Adolescents for Health & Resilience
A community-based initiative focusing on adolescent girls’ health education, life skills, and financial literacy to build resilience, confidence, and long-term wellbeing. - Whiteboard Replacement for Bishop Crowther Memorial Primary School
An education-focused project aimed at providing functional teaching and learning tools to improve classroom engagement and learning outcomes for primary school students. - STEM After-School Program
A project designed to equip young learners with hands-on experience in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, fostering innovation, problem-solving skills, and a future-ready workforce. - Aso360 Sustainability Textile Circularity for SMEs
A sustainability initiative supporting small and medium enterprises in the textile sector to adopt circular economy practices, reduce waste, and generate new business opportunities.
These projects reflect real community needs and highlight opportunities for tangible, measurable social and economic impact. Detailed information on each project, including objectives, timelines, and impact targets, is available on the Philantify platform.
Next Steps: From Funding to Execution
Selected projects now move into the execution phase, where delivery partners will submit bids to implement the initiatives. Once selected, partners will commence work while Philantify ensures full transparency throughout:
- Funding disbursements will be publicly tracked.
- Implementation milestones will be documented in real time.
- Results and final impact will be openly reported, creating a verifiable record of change for every community served.
“Our approach is simple: visibility builds trust, and trust builds impact. By documenting every stage of these projects, we ensure that donors, communities, and partners can see exactly how their support transforms lives,” said the Chief Operations Officer of Philantify.
Join the Movement
Philantify invites individuals, corporate partners, and civic groups to follow these projects in real time, volunteer, donate, or submit their own community challenge or micro-project. Together, stakeholders are building a new standard for philanthropy in Africa, one that is transparent, accountable, and community-centered.
